SkyScan 1172 microCT system
From emsuite wiki
The Mechanical Engineering Department at UMBC hosts a SkyScan 1172 microCT system (Micro Photonics Inc.) where digital processing of sequential x-ray scans is used to generate a 3-D image of an object’s internal structure. This system has a spatial resolution on the order of 2 micrometers and can scan an object up to 6 cm. It can be used in the study of porous or cavity-containing objects, permeable natural materials, advanced structural materials, hard tissues with high linear attenuation coefficient of calcified bone and dental matrices, and for visualization of vasculature and organs with high contrast agents.
